Born on 25 November 1968, Jillian Noel Hennessy is dynamic Canadian actor and a singer who is renowned for her significant contribution to American television. She is renowned for her stellar performances in the American television series Law & Order where she captivated audiences for three seasons as prosecutor Claire Kincaid and Crossing Jordan in which she played protagonist Jordan Cavanaugh for six seasons. Hennessy has also demonstrated her talents as an actor in films like RoboCop 3 Most Wanted and independent movies Chutney Popcorn and The Acting Class and The Acting Class, in which she flexed her writing and co-directing muscles. Hennessy started her acting career alongside her sister, in 1988. They played the twins of callgirls on Dead Ringers. She briefly appeared in Buddy The Buddy Holly Story The Buddy Holly Story on Broadway in the year 1990. It was 1993 when the actress stepped out of the world of musicals and into the science-fiction genre, playing Dr. Marie Lazarus. In the following year she made her most famous break when she joined the NBC's sensational drama Law & Order to play assistant district attorneys Claire Kincaid. The three-season run in the character was well-loved by viewers. In 1996, she left the show. Parker is a regular in a number of movies and television shows, such as RED Fried Green Tomatoes Boys from the Side West Wing Angels and Angels in America. In these roles, she was awarded an Emmy Award in 2006 and a Golden Globe Award in 2006 and an Emmy Award in 2007. Parker was also awarded the Tony Award for Best Actress 2001 in the play Proof.
